What is fly-tipping
Fly-tipping is the illegal dumping of rubbish.
It is a crime that damages the environment, risks public health and costs taxpayers to clean up.
We are responsible for investigating, clearing and taking the necessary action against anybody who is found to be fly-tipping on public land in Runnymede. We will remove illegally dumped rubbish from the public highway or Council owned land as soon as possible and work with the Environment Agency to remove larger accumulations. We are also able to provide advice on fly-tipping on private land but the responsibility for its removal falls to the landowner.
For small-scale fly-tipping offences you could be handed a £400 Fixed Penalty Notice. For larger-scale fly-tipping offences you could be fined and prosecuted.
