What can go in your garden waste bin?
The garden waste collection service is for compostable garden waste only
- grass cuttings
- prunings and hedge trimmings
- twigs and small branches
- cut flowers and plants
- fallen fruit (ensure bin is not too heavy to move!)
The following items must not be put into the garden waste bin
- plastic flower pots
- large branches and wood
- rubble and stones
- soil and turf
- animal bedding - such as hay, straw and saw dust
There is a weight restriction on how much the vehicle can lift. Please ensure bins are easily manoeuvrable otherwise we may not be able to empty your bin.
All of the green waste collected is composted locally in Chertsey.
