Sports Person of the Year
For an individual who has achieved individual success, or has made a huge difference to their team, over the last 12 months. A role model setting a good example to others. Sporting achievements are not limited to trophies or medals. Success could include improvements in performance throughout the year, personal commitment and sacrifices to increase progress, or special circumstances / barriers that have been overcome by the athlete.
Young Sports Person of the Year
For an individual under the age of 18 who has achieved individual success, or has made a huge difference to their team, over the last 12 months. A role model setting a good example to others. Sporting achievements are not limited to trophies or medals. Success could include improvements in performance throughout the year, personal commitment and sacrifices to increase progress, or special circumstances / barriers that have been overcome by the athlete.
Coach of the Year
For a coach who has inspired people to take part in sport more regularly, helped residents to start or stay in sport, and who has played a positive influence in their community. Recognising an individual who has gone above and beyond to empower and inspire in their chosen sport.
School Sports Team of the Year
For a school sports team which has performed exceptionally well throughout the last 12 months, demonstrating fair play and a sporting attitude, and showing significant improvement from previous years. It maybe a new team and enjoyed some initial success or well-established high performing team that have gone on to achieve amazing results. Demonstrating a commitment to encouraging players to develop and supporting existing members to succeed within the sport.
Coach of the Year
For a coach who has inspired people to take part in sport more regularly, helped residents to start or stay in sport, and who has played a positive influence in their community. Recognising an individual who has gone above and beyond to empower and inspire in their chosen sport.
Sports Volunteer of Year Award
For a volunteer (of any age) who has made a positive contribution to sport in the community through giving their time voluntarily for the benefit of others and demonstrated their outstanding commitment to their role. This could be someone who gives up their spare time to work tirelessly behind the scenes maybe looking after the admin, managing kit or running a clubhouse.
Health & Wellbeing Award
For an organisation or individual who has gone above and beyond to empower and inspire people to improve their health, fitness, mental health and wellbeing. Providing exceptional guidance, empowering residents to achieve their goals through lifestyle changes and personal development, promoting health and wellbeing within a supportive and motivating environment. Made significant positive contributions to the community, whether through outreach programmes, accessible services, or health education initiatives.
