Reasons for the regeneration

Some of the current properties are at the end of their functional life. For most of the properties it would be very expensive to make them more energy efficient - if it is possible at all. Much of the land in the area is under used, with excessively large gardens and homes. This means we can build more properties and home those in need. 

We would like to enhance the area and provide highly energy efficient homes that are cheaper to run, that meet current and future needs. We want to create a greater mix of homes in terms of those that are rented and owned whilst also providing more choice over the sizes of properties.
