The UK has a welfare system which is designed to help those who face financial hardship, or who have specific needs. Start the process by applying for Universal Credit

Your local Jobcentre Plus will be able to help you find out which benefits you may entitled to.

Ukrainians on the Homes for Ukraine scheme have recourse to public funds. They can access

  • Child Benefit
    For people who are responsible for a child under the age of 16 (or under 20 if they stay in approved education or training)

  • Housing Benefit   
    Housing Benefit can help you pay your rent if you’re unemployed, have a low income or claiming benefits.
     
  • Pension Credit
    Extra money to help with living costs if you’re over State Pension age and have a low income.
     
  • Personal Independence Payment
    Can help with extra living costs if you have a long-term physical or mental health condition or disability.
     
  • Child Disability Living Allowance             
    For children up to age 16 with a disability or health condition
     
  • Carers Allowance
    For those who care for a sick/disabled person for at least 35 hours a week and get certain benefits
     
  • Attendance Allowance
    For those with a severe disability that requires care.
     
  • Contributions-based Employment and Support Allowance (ESA).
    For those with a disability or health condition that affects how much you can work.
