Community Engagement Event
Purpose and Vision
This event is to provide the community with information about the forthcoming proposals for the site known as “The Precinct”, which will be available through a series of information boards and discussion with the technical team. The information available will outline the vision for the re-development of the site which in line with the site’s planning allocation will comprise a residential led scheme with commercial floorspace at ground floor level.
Proposed Development
The scheme proposes several key benefits to the local area including:
- delivery of significant and much-needed new housing on a highly-accessible, previously-developed site which will make strong contribution to local housing need;
- provision of a high-quality architectural scheme which will rejuvenate Egham High Street;
- delivery of flexible commercial uses at ground level at a key-location on-site, in addition to securement of other means of active frontage;
- provision of local employment opportunities through the commercial units proposed, there will also be opportunity for employment through temporary construction work;
- provision of cycle parking spaces, helping to promote sustainable transport modes; and
- delivery of significant new, accessible and permeable public realm fronting Egham High Street, promoting pedestrian priority.
The above will be secured via submission of an Outline planning application in Spring 2026, following which the full detailed design will be brought forward through a further planning application by a chosen developer.
