Commercial waste

Key points

Here are the key points of Runnymede Borough Council’s business (trade) waste collection service. These outline how the service works, what the Council provides, what you can expect from us, and what we ask from Traders to ensure reliable and efficient collections.

  • The Council will supply the Trader with wheeled bins for business (trade) waste only. The Trader must keep them accessible, use them properly, allow inspections, and repay the Council for any damage other than normal wear and tear.
  • The container(s) will remain the property of the Council.
  • Once the agreement is signed, the Trader should allow up to 10 working days for delivery of the bin(s).
  • The Trader must not remove the container(s) from their premises.
  • The Trader agrees to pay the Council, when asked, the charges for business (trade) waste collection set by the Council.
  • The Trader will be issued with an invoice, and payment can be made in full or through a Direct Debit payment plan.
  • In return for the Trader’s payments, the Council agrees to collect the business (trade) waste placed in the containers. However, the Council does not have to collect any waste during any period when the Trader has payments outstanding, whether or not a formal demand has been made.
  • The collection cycle for business (trade) waste will be weekly. Collection days may differ during festive periods, and the Council will notify the Trader of any changes.
  • The Trader must repay the Council for the cost of a replacement container if it is lost completely.
  • This agreement may be ended after twelve months by either party giving the other two months’ written notice.
