How do I apply for Independent Retirement Living?
You can complete an online Housing Application form for the Council’s Housing Register. If you need help with this call the Council’s Customer Services Team on 01932 838383.
The number of Independent Retirement Living apartments is limited. Therefore, much like other housing registers, our waiting list is organised by priority. If you own your property, you may be advised to buy somewhere that suits your needs. We would therefore advise you to contact the Council to discuss your circumstance.
If your housing application is accepted, we will write to you. You can look for available properties online through on the RBC Living & Homes website. You can contact the Council is you need help with bidding for a property.
The length of time you may have to wait for a suitable property will be determined by the type of property you require, your area of choice, your current housing need, and that of other applicants who are waiting to move.
Before an offer of accommodation is made, a IRL Manger will visit you at your home to talk to you and understand your circumstances and support needs. You will then be invited to visit the property offered.
