Community Event Grant Scheme
The Community Event Grant Scheme is inviting voluntary and community organisations who organise community events within the borough to apply for funding.
This funding covers equipment, materials, and costs associated with organising and delivering community events. The maximum amount that can be applied for is £750.
The deadline to submit applications is 22 February 2026. No applications will be accepted after this date.
All applications will be reviewed initially by a panel of officers, together with the Chair and Vice Chair of Community Services Committee.
The final decision on grant awards will be made by elected members at a meeting of Community Services Committee on 11 March 2026. The decision of the Committee will be final.
You will be informed of the outcome of your application after the above process is complete.
Criteria
All questions on the application form must be answered. Incomplete forms will not be able to be submitted through our portal.
To ensure a smooth application process, we highly recommend reviewing the grant guidance document first. We also suggest drafting your responses in a Word document so you can easily copy and paste them into the online form once you are ready to submit. Each page of the online application form will timeout after 10 minutes.
The Community Event Grant Scheme is an annual scheme where one off funding can be applied for, up to a maximum value of £750.
The grant is available to purchase equipment and materials which will be used in the delivery of events and/or as a contribution to costs incurred in the organisation of the event.
An organisation can submit more than one application to the Community Event Grant Scheme.
You will be required to complete a monitoring form when your event has taken place or within six months of receiving the Community Event Grant Scheme Grant. Failure of provide monitoring information may render your group ineligible to apply for future grants.
Eligibility
Applications are welcome from voluntary and community organisations who hold community events within the borough of Runnymede to apply for funding. Applications to this Community Grant Scheme must also meet the following criteria:
- The event organiser/applicant body must be a not-for-profit community organisation
- Any fundraising generated through the community event must either be reinvested into future community events or donated to charitable organisations/objectives or other worthwhile causes
- Applications must be made in advance of the event to which they refer and are for future project costs only
- The community event must be either free of charge for residents, request donations only, or apply a nominal charge for entry (e.g., a fee of £3 per adult and free for children under the age of 16)
What will not be funded:
- Individuals
- Costs incurred or events held prior to the formal confirmation of this grant are ineligible for funding
- Events originating from organisations who do not have a bank account
- Events that are purely social in nature without a broader community service component
