New build properties
As per the Household Recycling & Waste Policy developers are required to purchase bins for all new build properties and conversions. This is to ensure compatibility with current fleet and consistent bin provision. The bin allocation is set out within the Guidance for Developers.
Street level properties
The bin allocation for houses and other street-level dwellings is a standard set of bins consisting of food caddies (indoor and outdoor), 240L recycling bin and 180L refuse bin.
Flats and apartments
Where there are 5 or more flats with a communal bin store, communal containers must be provided.
Developers must provide property information ahead of any requests for bins and allow sufficient notice for bin allocation and to allow payment to be processed.
