Garden Waste

About the service

This is a subscription fortnightly service for the collection of garden waste, available to households, schools, places of worship and community centres in Runnymede borough.

This is a cost-effective way of disposing of your garden waste without having to take it to the Community Recycling Centre.

The service is a bin-based collection where each bin has its own subscription. There are two bin sizes, and you can have as many garden waste bin subscriptions as you need.

  • 140L - holds the equivalent of about 2 sacks
  • 240L - holds the equivalent of about 3-4 sacks

There is a delivery fee for the bin (if one is needed) plus the cost of the yearly subscription.

Once you have signed up to the service, you will need to check when you garden waste will be collected.

Tips for a smooth collection

Only compostable garden waste must be placed loose in the bin. Please ensure everything is contained within the bin and do not leave extra bags out for collection.

  • Check your garden waste collection date & present your bin by 6am at the edge of your property
  • Ensure bins are safe to manoeuvre & not overloaded otherwise we may not be able to empty your bin.
  • Label your bin with your house name/number, so our crew can easily identify it.

All bins remain the property of Runnymede Borough Council. If you need a replacement bin, request one online using our requests and reports forms.
