What can go in your garden waste bin
Only loose garden waste may be placed in the garden waste bin. Please do not place garden waste in plastic bags or any other packaging.
- Grass cuttings
- Weeds
- Leaves
- Prunings and hedge trimmings
- Twigs and small branches
- Cut flowers and plants
- Fallen fruit (make sure the bin is not too heavy as we will not be able to empty it)
What cannot go in your bin
The following items must not be put into the garden waste bin:
- Plastic bags or sacks
- Plastic flowerpots
- Large branches and wood/timber
- Rubble and stones
- Animal/pet waste (e.g. used bedding)
- Invasive non-native (alien) plant species: including Japanese knotweed
