We are currently consulting on new policies and strategies that we would like to hear your views on.

Garage Strategy

Last financial year, the revenue we gained from renting garages decreased by £20,000. We currently have 248 empty garages, a proportion of which are in need of costly repairs. The spaces are rarely being used for their purpose – to park cars – and 9% of them are being rented by someone who does not live in the Borough.

Therefore, we have created a strategy that helps the Council decide whether in certain areas the garages can be put to better use from development, such as housing, parking areas, or parcels of land for surrounding homeowners.

CCTV  Policy

Finger pressing doorbell

We recognise that items like video doorbells are becoming popular. Certain recording devices are allowed, but we ask you get permission from the council before installing them and ensure they do not record communal areas.

Read our draft CCTV policy to understand what tenants are required to do, and how to get permission.
