Local councils have certain legal responsibilities for people identified as homeless. When Runnymede Council confirms that they will help arrange a settled home for a homeless household, this can include accommodation in the private rented sector. This might happen when the household have been living temporarily in a council property.
With the current demand for social housing, the private sector has a significant role in providing good quality accommodation.
