Self-Build and custom housebuilding register

What is the purpose of the register?

The Government wants to enable more people to build or commission their own home.

To help achieve this, the Self-build and Custom House building Act 2015 was enacted on 26 March 2015 which requires relevant authorities to keep a register of individuals and associations of individuals who are seeking to acquire serviced plots of land in a local authority's area.

The Self-build and Custom House building (Register) Regulations 2016 require all local authorities to hold a register of people and groups interested in building their own home in their areas. This register provides an indication of the demand for self/custom build in Runnymede.
