Town centre regeneration

Runnymede Borough Council is committed to regenerating the area's town centres, as well as improving infrastructure and public facilities in the area. Our aim is to support local people, improve our economy and enhance our environment, by creating modern and lively high streets where people enjoy shopping and socialising.

The work is known as the Runnymede Regeneration Programme and our major regeneration schemes are currently in Addlestone and Egham.

The Council is working with Places for People, one of the UK's largest property development and regeneration companies, which has a strong track record in building sustainable communities and mixed-use developments.

Egham is an historic town, and the Council is embarking on a sensitive redevelopment of an area of the town to create a new square, shops, a cinema and new housing.
AddlestoneOne is the £80m regeneration of Addlestone town centre, which was launched in 2019. It includes shops, a Waitrose, Premier Inn, new offices for the Borough Council, Police and Library
