Notice of scoping consultation

Runnymede Local Plan: Notice of Scoping Consultation - The Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2026 - Part 4, Regulation 20 

The Runnymede Local Plan: Scoping Consultation commences on Monday 7 September 2026 and closes at 11.59pm on Monday 12 October 2026.  

The purpose of this Notice is to give communities and other stakeholders the opportunity to make representations on matters relevant to the preparation of the Runnymede Local Plan including what the plan should contain, as well as how the Council will engage and involve 
stakeholders in the preparation of the new Local Plan.  

Copies of documents related to this consultation stage will be published on the Runnymede Borough Council website and will be available through the following webpage:

Comments on the Runnymede Local Plan: Scoping Consultation must be received by 11.59pm on Monday 12th October 2026. Comments may be accompanied by a request to be notified when steps in the plan-making process take place, including:  

  • Consultation on the proposed Local Plan content and evidence (Regulation 23);  
  • Publication of observations or advice (given under Gateway 2 or 3 Assessment);  
  • Consultation on the Proposed Local Plan (Regulation 27);  
  • Submission of the Proposed Local Plan for Examination;  
  • Independent Examination of the Local Plan (Regulation 35);  
  • The Examiner considers that the examination should be paused to consider further matters;  
  • Publication of any document and evidence sent by the Council to the examiner related to those further matters;  
  • Publication of the Examiner’s Report with recommendations and reasons; and  
  • Adoption or approval of the Local Plan.
