Food handlers in food businesses must be suitably trained and/or instructed in the food safety matters that are relevant to their role.
We are able to offer food safety training for food handlers and food business operators in the basics of food safety through our Foundation (Level 2) course. This provides an understanding of relevant aspects of food safety, such as:
- simple microbiology
- premises and equipment requirements
- personal hygiene
- preventing food contamination
- cleaning and disinfection
- temperature control
- allergen management
We run the course at our offices in Addlestone. The duration of the course is approximately 5 hours. You will be asked to sit a short multiple-choice test at the end of the course. If you complete the test successfully we will provide you with an official certificate (endorsed by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health).
This certificate is often seen as a gateway to working in the catering industry.
(In order to comply with the law you will also need to provide suitable instruction in-house in relation to the implementation of your own procedures and any site/company specific rules).
Our food safety training costs £50 per candidate (includes exam fee and certificate).
