Once your account has been set up, you will be sent a Council Tax bill.

The bill will show your Council Tax account number, your property band and a breakdown of your payments for the current financial year.

When it arrives, please check the following are correct:

  • Names of the liable parties
  • Address of the property liable for Council Tax
  • Total amount you owe
  • Instalment dates and amounts
  • Your payment method

We have another webpage for help understanding your Council Tax bill.

Remember: If you apply to claim a Council Tax discount or exemption after receiving your bill, you will still have to pay the full amount on your bill until we make a decision. If we do award the discount or exemption, you will be sent an amended bill.

If you wish to pay your Council Tax by another method you can do so here.

We would recommend paying by Direct Debit as it is the safest and most convenient way to pay, however other options are available. Whichever method you choose, you will need your Council Tax account number which can be found on your bill.

Your Council Tax bill will show any discount or exemptions that have been applied to your account. You can find out more about the various discount and exemptions available and apply online.
