Climate and sustainability

Runnymede is one of many players in the area that are acting now to make a difference. We've already taken significant steps across the buildings we own and through the policies we implement as an elected authority on behalf of residents.

Our comprehensive, ambitious and robust Climate Change Strategy will seek to implement a range of solutions to issues impacting our environment including working with residents, private companies and housing developers. We are also supporting the Surrey Climate Change Strategy.

Other key players in or near Runnymede which can make a difference to our climate include Heathrow Airport and its airlines, developers, Surrey County Council, our MP Dr Ben Spencer, St Peter's Hospital, bus and train companies, big business, homeowners and motorists, schools, colleges and Royal Holloway University of London. We have engaged with these organisations, especially Heathrow, on behalf of local people, and will continue to do so when necessary.

Every household can make a difference individually, here are some good ideas from Friends of the Earth More advice is available from the Energy Saving Trust
