The Climate Change & Nature Action Plan, previously the Climate Change Action Plan, was approved at Full Council in February 2024, with a first review and update of the document approved by members at Corporate Management Committee on 10 April 2025. The Action Plan provides a framework for everyone to take action to reduce emissions and adapt to the climate change that is already occurring, driven by the vision, objectives and targets set out in the Council’s Climate Change Strategy.
The updated Climate Change & Nature Action Plan and accompanying version control document, highlighting changes made from the adopted Climate Change Action Plan in February 2024, are available below.

The Action Plan identifies over 200 actions and sub-actions which focus on reducing emissions that the Council can directly and indirectly control and influence, and actions which will help reduce borough-wide emissions. It is designed to set us in the right direction, but it will continue to be developed to keep pace with shifts across society, technology and wider policy, including the changing needs of communities, groups and organisations in Runnymede.
The Action Plan includes a chapter describing how delivery will be monitored, including how progress reports will be presented at Corporate Management Committee.
