Public notices

The council must, under certain legislation, publish notices for the public's information. These notices relate to Orders that the council wishes to make and usually relate to highways and road traffic matters.


RUNNYMEDE BOROUGH COUNCIL

LOCAL GOVERNMENT (MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS) ACT 1982

SECTION 3 - STREET TRADING

Notice is hereby given that Runnymede Borough Council, in accordance with the provisions of Section 3 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982, has passed the following resolution:

The streets and part streets set out below be designated as Consent Streets, Licence Streets or Prohibited Streets as defined in Schedule 4 to the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982, with effect from 30 March 2024:

  1. that all previous Resolutions of the Council made pursuant to Paragraph 2 of Schedule 4 to the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982 (“the Act”) are hereby  rescinded.
     
  2. that all streets maintainable at public expense, within the Borough of Runnymede, be designated as Prohibited Streets under Paragraph 2 of Schedule 4 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982, save the following which are to be designated as Consent Streets and Licence Streets respectively:

Consent Street

The Broadway, New Haw

At the eastern service road adjacent to the street, from the northern boundary of the Black Prince Public House for a distance of 15 metres in a northerly direction.

Licence Streets

High Street, Egham
Station Road North, Egham      
Guildford Street, Chertsey – at the junction of Riversdell Close and Heriot Road towards the junction joining onto Windsor Street and London Street

  1. that the Designation comes into effect on 30 March 2024

The effect of the resolution is that, from the said date, any person who desires to engage in street trading in these streets will require a licence to do so from the Council.  A person who trades there without being authorised to do so may be guilty of an offence and liable on summary conviction to a fine  of up to £1,000.
