On 18 March 2025, the Englefield Green Village Neighbourhood Forum submitted a formal request for a Community Governance Review (CGR) of the Englefield Green Village Neighbourhood Area. This request included a proposal to establish a parish council for the area.
Following this, a report was presented to Corporate Management Committee on 10 July 2025 and subsequently approved by Full Council on 17 July 2025. As a result, the Terms of Reference and Timetable for the CGR were officially adopted.
In line with the agreed timetable, an initial consultation was carried out. The feedback received helped shape the draft recommendations, which were presented to Corporate Management Committee on 16 October 2025 and approved by Full Council on 23 October 2025.

A second round of consultation was then carried out which helped to hone the final recommendations which were included on the agenda for the Corporate Management Committee meeting held on the 12 February 2026 and then approved by Full Council on 26 February 2026.
A draft budget for the proposed parish council has since been formulated and a further report taken to Full Council at their meeting on 1 September 2026 where they resolved to recommend to West Surrey Shadow Authority that they make a Reorganisation Order to establish a parish council for Englefield Green.
The West Surrey Shadow Executive has been asked to approve the reorganisation order for the Englefield Green parish at their meeting of 15 September 2026.
