Housing services improvement plan
The Regulator of Social Housing graded the Council’s landlord services as C4 against the Consumer Standards in February 2026. They highlighted several areas where they consider the Council is failing to meet the expected standards for social housing and where we need to improve our services. You can see our response to the Regulator’s judgement at Judgement of the Regulator of Social Housing
If you would like to read more about the Consumer Standards that apply to all social landlords please see the government’s website Regulatory standards for landlords - GOV.UK
Since receiving the judgement, we have been in regular dialogue with the Regulator, listening to tenants and reviewing our housing services. We have created the Housing Services Improvement Plan which demonstrates how we are addressing concerns raised and how we will be providing good services to our tenants. We are sharing the Improvement Plan with our tenants
The Improvement Plan is just the beginning of the journey, and we will be looking at how we can continue to improve our services using tenants feedback to define what a good service looks like. We will keep this section of the website updated with our progress.
