Summary
This section sets out how our proposal for reorganisation provides strong democratic accountability, representation, and community empowerment. By establishing three unitary authorities, we aim to empower local leaders and communities, ensuring decisions are made close to the people they affect. This approach will enhance community engagement, improve local decision-making, and foster resilient communities. In contrast, a one or two-unitary model would be too large and remote, failing to effectively respond to, and engage with, local communities.
