Armed forces support
Runnymede Borough Council is proud to be a supporter of the Armed Forces Community Covenant.
The Covenant in Runnymede was signed in November 2013 and is a voluntary statement of mutual support between our community and the Armed Forces locally.
The aim of the Community Covenant is to
- encourage communities to support the Armed Forces in their areas and to nurture public understanding and awareness of issues affecting the Armed Forces
- recognise and remember the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces
- encourage activities which help to integrate the Armed Forces into local life
- encourage the Armed Forces to help and support the wider community, whether through participation in events and joint projects, or other forms of engagement
Runnymede has received its silver accreditation under the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme.
For enquiries, please contact Councillor Tom Gracey, the Armed Forces Champion for the Borough, or Councillor Stephen Walsh, Deputy Armed Forces Champion.
