Runnymede Borough Council has secured CIL (Community Infrastructure Levy - CIL) funding to improve four local play areas. We’re now ready to begin community engagement so that residents and children can help shape the designs before we move to the next stage.
The four play areas included
- Abbey Fields Play Area
- Frank Muir Memorial Field Play Area
- Edgil Close Play Area
- Murray House Play Area
Your feedback will help us understand what’s most important to the community - including the types of play equipment, accessibility, and the overall look and feel of each site.
How to get involved
1. Residents’ survey
We have created four separate surveys, one for each play area. Please complete the survey for the play area closest to you.
- Abbeyfields Play Area Engagement.
- Frank Muir Playground Engagement
- Edgell Close Playground Engagement
- Murray House Playground Engagement
Each survey only takes a few minutes and gives you the chance to tell us what you’d like to see included.
2. Children’s “Design Your Playground” activity
We also want to hear directly from children! Download the activity sheet for your local play area, then:
- Visit the playground (with an adult)
- Look at what’s there now
- Draw and/or write what you’d love to see in the new play area
Children’s Activity Sheets
Completed designs can be returned using the instructions on the activity sheet (or via your school, where applicable)
What happens next?
Once the engagement period closes, we’ll review feedback and use it to inform the design and specification for each play area before progressing to the next stage of delivery.
Thank you for helping us create play areas that reflect what local children and families want and need.
