Council shows solidarity and support to Ukraine

Runnymede Borough Council is showing its solidarity and support to Ukraine today, Thursday 3 March 2022, raising the country’s flag outside of its Civic Centre offices here in Addlestone.

At this evening’s meeting of Full Council, Father Damian Harrison - Miles will attend from St Mary's Church in Thorpe. He will join the Mayor of Runnymede to light a candle and say a prayer for those affected by the events in Ukraine.

Cllr Elaine Gill, Mayor of Runnymede said:

The Council supports The Bureau of the Congress in their condemnation of the armed attacks in Ukraine. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of the conflict, and their families, both at home and abroad. We support the UK’s efforts to resolve this ongoing conflict.
