Join the family friendly fun at Addlestone’s Festive Fayre

The countdown to Christmas is on and what better way to celebrate than with Addlestone’s Festive Fayre and annual Christmas lights switch-on!

Situated in the centre of town, the event will take place from midday to 7pm, on Saturday 20 November 2021.

Local businesses will be setting-up shop to create a pop-up Christmas Market inside Addlestone One. Visitors can get ahead of their Christmas shopping with a selection of stalls selling everything from candles to handmade jewellery and toys.

Several town centre retailers will also offer late night shopping to support the event and offer more options for local people.

Glimmer Theatre will be on hand to spread some festive cheer with live entertainment. The family friendly fun doesn’t stop there, with St George’s School set to perform a range of a Christmas classics across the afternoon.

Cllr Nick Prescot, Leader of the Council said:

We’re delighted to host the Addlestone Festive Fayre and Christmas lights switch-on and look forward to welcoming people from across the Borough and nearby towns. There’s plenty of fun to be had for the whole family, from face painting, to live entertainment and even Santa’s Grotto.

We’re pleased to have received financial support from the Welcome Back Fund to host this exciting event. The Festive Fayre will help to drive footfall in the town centre over a key retail period, supporting local businesses and the economy in the process.

We’re encouraging residents to shop locally in the run up to Christmas and urge visitors to make use of our pop-up market and town centre shops when buying presents for family and friends. It’s also a great time to see what Addlestone’s bars, restaurants and cafes have to offer.

Ron Melia, Addlestone One Centre Manager said:

Whilst we’re excited to welcome local people back to our town centres, we’re also asking visitors to be mindful of Covid-19 guidance, keeping their distance, hand sanitising regularly and wearing masks where possible

Little ones can meet Santa between 2 – 4pm at the Addlestone Community Centre. Whilst there, visitors can also collect a map and take part in the town centre treasure hunt. Participants will be encouraged to visit local retailers to source clues and questions and could be in with a chance of winning several prizes, from sweets to a professional family photoshoot.

Head to Station Road for 5pm, where the Mayor will lead the grand Christmas light switch-on.
