A £150,000 fund committed to young people across Runnymede has just been approved for 2025/26 to fund a wide range of projects designed to support young people across the borough.
The budget team builds on the success of 2024/25 projects that reached over 2,000 young people. Highlights included Junior Citizen workshops, self-defence training in schools, the ACE youth programme, and popular seasonal events like Sportability and Xplorer.
The 2025/26 programme will fund new and extended initiatives such as subsidised summer camps, youth mental health outreach, arts and disability-focused projects, and an expanded Junior Rangers scheme. Many programmes are delivered in partnership with local schools, charities and activity providers, ensuring value for money and strong local impact.
The Chair of Community Services, Councillor Abby King, said:
“This funding directly supports the wellbeing, safety, and development of our young people, ensuring they have access to positive, inclusive opportunities that help them thrive. By investing in local initiatives, we’re not only addressing immediate needs but also laying the groundwork for long-term health, confidence, and resilience in our communities. We are proud to work alongside so many dedicated partners who share our commitment to empowering young people and creating a safer, more supportive Runnymede for all.
Further information and updates on these projects will be shared across our social media channels throughout the year.
