From canals to caterpillars, daisies to deer, and owls to oak trees, there is so much natural beauty to enjoy in Runnymede which is why we’ve launched Our Beautiful Borough photo competition.
With two categories for those aged 18 and under, and those over 18, the competition gives the perfect excuse to get outside, explore your local area, and get snapping wildlife and nature.
Entry is free, and the winning entries in each category will receive a £50 Social Supermarket voucher presented during a meet and greet event with the Mayor, and winning entries will be displayed in the Mayor’s office at the Addlestone Civic Centre.
You can submit up to three photographs between the 15 April 2024 and 2 June 2024 by emailing climatechange@runnymede.gov.uk with your name, age, and the location and a short description of each photo. Ensure your photos are clearly labelled so that we can identify which location/description corresponds to each photo.
The winners will be announced during Great Big Green Week which is a UK wide celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature taking place between 8-16 June.
The week is both an opportunity for us to showcase what work we are doing towards achieving our target of being Net Zero carbon emissions by 2030, as well as celebrate the actions of the local community towards improving the environment across the borough.
