Update on the School Travel Runnymede service, following the last meeting of the Full Council.
Due to international supply chain issues, specifically difficulties sourcing semi-conductors which are an essential part of the vehicle's electronics, there have been significant delays in securing buses to operate the service.
As a result, at a meeting of the Full Council on 15 July 2021, Councillors voted to cancel the lease contract for seven vehicles.
At the meeting of Full Council, a commitment to further consider options in relation to the service was given. This is likely to take place in the autumn cycle of committees.
Therefore, because of both the delay and the decision made, there will not be a bus service from September 2021.
