Statement of Licensing Policy - Licensing Act 2003 Consultation

Runnymede Borough Council is the Licensing Authority under the provisions of the Licensing Act 2003 (the ‘Act’). As such it is responsible for the administration and enforcement of Premises Licenses, Club Premises Certificates and Temporary Event Notices.

Under the Act the Council must prepare a written Statement of Licensing Policy, which sets out how we will carry out our licensing functions with a view to promoting the licensing objectives.

The Act requires the Council to review our Statement of Licensing Policy every five years.

The revisions to the Policy have been prepared in accordance with updates to the statutory Guidance issued under section 182 of the Act.

The consultation period will be 6 weeks - Thursday 25 September 2025 until Wednesday 6 November 2025 (closing 5pm).

The Council’s Licensing Committee will meet again in November 2025 to decide on the matter and your views are a key factor in the decision-making process.
