The Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK General Data Protection Regulations (UK GDPR) establishes a framework of rights and duties designed to safeguard personal data and to protect the individual's right to privacy. As well as protecting personal data about living individuals (Data Subjects) it also places obligations on those organisations that process personal data (Data Controllers).
This document sets out our policy regarding data protection.
The Council also have a dedicated Data Protection Officer who makes sure the Council respects individuals' rights and follows the legislation. If you have any concerns or questions about how we look after your personal information.
