Review of boundaries, polling districts, polling places and Parliamentary constituencies
Local authorities are required to carry out a review of Polling Districts and Polling Places every five years.
Electoral Review: Review of Borough Electoral Arrangements
Runnymede Borough is currently divided into 14 wards, each of which is served by three elected councillors. As a council we strongly believe this is the most appropriate figure to allow members to carry out their duties, engage with residents and help future proof the Borough as its population ages and grows.
Review of parliamentary constituencies
The UK Parliament has decided to reduce the number of constituencies, and therefore MPs, from 650 to 600. In England, the number of constituencies will reduce from 533 to 501.
Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places
Local authorities are required to carry out a review of Polling Districts and Polling Places every five years. The review seeks to ensure that all electors have reasonable facilities for voting in elections which are practicable in the circumstances and so far as it is reasonable and practical seeks to ensure that every polling place is accessible to electors who are disabled.
