Due to incidents of damage to property and wildlife primarily through catapult misuse, Runnymede Borough Council were asked to consider implementing a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) to prohibit usage. Following a consultation period, a report was taken to Committee seeking approval.
Approval was granted by Committee, and we are now in the process of obtaining signage. Once the signs are in place, a copy of the live order will become available.
In the interim, Surrey Police (who are responsible for initial enforcement of the order) are using the time to provide education to anyone found misusing a catapult or similar device.
We encourage residents to continue to report any incidents of crime or antisocial behaviour.
