Consultation for a new licensing scheme

The amendment to the Health and Care Act 2022 has given powers to the Government to introduce a new licensing scheme for practitioners who carry out non-surgical cosmetic (aesthetic) procedure in England.

This new licensing scheme is now at a consultation stage which runs until 11:59pm on 28 October 2023.

In this consultation the Government is seeking your views on

  • The types of treatments proposed to be included within the licensing scheme
  • Whether any procedures should be carried out only either by qualified and regulated healthcare professionals or under their clinical oversight
  • Whether procedures permitted to be carried out only by qualified and regulated healthcare professionals should only be carried out by CQC registered providers
  • Whether potential age restrictions should be imposed on those receiving specified procedures

Make your views known on the Licensing of non-surgical cosmetic procedures by filling the consultation on the link below.
