Runnymede Pleasure Grounds Car Park

The car parking payments system is now an automated number plate recognition system (ANPR) .  All users will need to pay either by coins or card at the pay stations or via RingGo.

The car park has two hardstanding car parking areas but is mostly an open plan grass car park which is opened over the summer months.

The site provides access to riverside and recreation areas, has parking for coaches and there is a café and toilet facilities.

Regular users can apply for annual passes and set up accounts for discounted parking rates. To look at the options visit

Paying for parking

You should pay at the pay station before returning to your car and before leaving the car park. Payment is required for any stay over 30 minutes.

Alternatively you can pay by RingGo.

For a receipt, you can log into your RingGo account and download this.

When the pay stations resume operation, you can pay in cash, contactless and credit card.

If you stay longer than the 30 minutes free period, you will need to go to the pay station as the barrier will not raise unless payment has been made.

You do not need a ticket to display.

Opening times

The car park is open seven days a week and opens at different times throughout the year; however, the earliest charges can apply from is 08:00 and the latest is 21:00.

Blue-Badge/Disabled drivers

There are some designated bays for Blue Badge-holders, and we do offer a free period of 3 hours for Blue-Badge holders who have successfully applied for a permit at After this free period standing parking charges apply.


Validations (or "parking discounts") are available for those attending certain events in the park. When you have the event parking code, enter it on the parking kiosk by clicking the validation button and your parking charge will be fully discounted or the free period will be granted.

Validations may be done only once.

Pay Station errors

After you've typed-in your number plate, if the system hasn't located your vehicle, please just re-type your number plate and time of entry and pay the charge as shown.

After you've typed-in your number plate, if the system has located your vehicle, but shows the wrong date and/or time of entry, please press the button to amend the date/time and pay the charge as shown.
