Under 18? It is against the law to tattoo anyone under 18, even with parental permission a tattooist is liable to prosecution under the Police enforced Tattooing of Minors Act 1969.

Applying for a skin piercing registration?

Your businesses and premises must be registered with us if you carry out any of the following

  • tattooing
  • semi-permanent skin colouring or micro-pigmentation
  • cosmetic piercing
  • electrolysis
  • ear piercing
  • acupuncture

Each business (each self employed person or each employer) and each premises must be registered.

A one-off £234 fee applies for the registration of either the businesses or premises.

With a fee of £468 when applying for both the businesses and premises
