Heat Surrey has been launched in Runnymede to help households save money on heating bills, make their homes warmer and more energy efficient which will help to reduce carbon emissions and tackle fuel poverty.
You might not need to be on benefits to take advantage of grants that are available. Heat Surrey has been offering grants for a number of years, but thanks to new legislation from central Government, more residents are now able to receive money to make their homes warmer and more affordable to heat.
The Energy Company Obligation scheme (ECO) will help Government to deliver aspirations for all homes to reach EPC Band C by 2035 where practical, cost effective and affordable.
Heat Surrey can offer cavity-wall and loft insulation, storage-heater upgrades, new storage-heater installations and wider services, whether you want to insulate your home, upgrade your heating system, or install renewable energy technologies.
Runnymede Borough Council have also secured a share of £1.2 million from National Grid's Warm Homes Fund to install mains gas and new gas central heating systems.
Look out for more details coming with your Council Tax Bill.
In Runnymede you are likely to be eligible for a grant if your home is privately rented; if you live in a Park Home; or if you own your home and the household income after tax and after deducting Council Tax and energy costs is less than £35,000 per year.
Private homeowners may be eligible for grants for first time central heating, insulation and boiler upgrades. Rented homes are not eligible for boiler upgrades, but tenants and landlords of privately rented properties may be eligible for grants for first time central heating and insulation, regardless of the tenants' income, as long as the home has an Energy Performance Certificate rating of A to E. In many cases the works are free of charge, although central heating grants are likely to require a partial contribution from the property owner.
Government grants may be available to private-sector residents, including landlords, where a household receives qualifying benefits, including Pension Credit or Child Tax Credit.
Heat Surrey can also offer cavity-wall and loft insulation, storage-heater upgrades, new storage-heater installations and wider services such as replacement oil and LPG boilers,
Whether you want to insulate your home, upgrade your heating system, install renewable energy technologies or just switch energy supplier, Heat Surrey Project can help.
