Sustainable energy

Information and financial advice on installing sustainable energy systems.

  • Common domestic renewable energy systems

There are a range of energy systems available to create renewable energy in domestic situations, but it is important to make sure your home is well insulated in the first instance.

  • Heat Surrey

Heat Surrey has been launched to help households in Runnymede make their homes warmer, more energy efficient and save money on heating bills.

  • Domestic energy

Over 35% of heat can be lost from an uninsulated home through the roof, walls, windows and gaps which can cause draughts. Retaining warmth already in the home will save energy use and reduce spending money on fuel bills. There are various agencies that can help with advice and funding.

  • Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs)

EPCs rate the energy efficiency of a building from A (very efficient) to G (inefficient). They show much it costs to heat and light, and what the carbon dioxide emissions are likely to be and what could be done to improve the energy efficiency rating. They must be produced by and Approved Domestic Energy Assessor and are valid for 10 years.
