Help to name new buildings in Egham Gateway West

Work is now under way to regenerate a major section of Egham town centre adjacent to Station Road North to give the town centre a boost, supporting local businesses and helping to improve our local economy.

As part of this regeneration project, known as Egham Gateway West, the development will include more than 100 new homes comprising of a mix of private and affordable houses as well as retail units including a four screen Everyman Cinema and student accommodation.

To give the area an identity, the four residential entrances will be individually named. It's our proposal that residents of Egham get to have a say in the naming of the new buildings.

Can you help?

Your knowledge of the area and local history will help provide insight into names which would be meaningful and relevant to the people of Egham.

How will it work?

We're keen to hear from residents who can suggest sensible and realistic names which will form part of a long list. For example, notable people of the area, landmarks or points of historic interest.

What happens next?

If you would like to submit a suggestion for a name of one or all four of the buildings, please email it together with a short explanation of why you believe it is appropriate to us at communications@runnymede.gov.uk

The closing date is 20 February 2020.
