Egham is an historic town, and the Council is embarking on a sensitive redevelopment of part of the central area to create a new square, shops, a cinema and new housing.
We are investing in a multi-million pound upgrade to part of the town centre broadly bounded by Station Road North and parts of Church Road and High Street. The work is expected to take around two years, from December 2019 and the site will be known as Magna Square. During the development and planning stage, the site was called Egham Gateway West.
The plans will deliver new accommodation:
- 34 affordable for rent homes,
- 67 market rate sale or rent apartments, and
- Student accommodation
This exciting development will also see a new four screen Everyman cinema open on the corner of Station Road North and Church Road. There will also be retail and restaurant units, a food convenience store and a new public square.
