Runnymede Borough Council yesterday (Tuesday 31 July) submitted its local plan to the Government.
The Runnymede Local Plan 2030 has been produced to meet the needs of the borough's communities while taking the opportunities to best preserve the area's treasured heritage, environment and green spaces.
In producing the plan, the Council has consulted with communities and specific organisations. The next step will see the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government appoint an Inspector to consider the plan. Although a timetable is yet to set, it is expected that the examination in public will take place be towards the end of this year.
The Council would like to thank everyone who has contributed to making the plan, through engagement in the public consultations that have informed its production. Details on the Inspector's appointment and consideration of the plan will be made available on the planning policy pages.
