One hundred funded boilers have been installed within the first three months of new scheme.
Runnymede Borough Council, in partnership with Happy Energy has delivered its first 100 replacement installations to residents within the private sector for households with old, inefficient boilers.
At an average cost of £2,000 per boiler that is a staggering £200,000 value of assistance to residents, without taking in to account the potential heating cost and carbon savings.
This funding is part of the ECO Flex government funding managed by the local authority with the aim to help bring residents out of fuel poverty.
Runnymede published its qualifying criteria in its statement of intent in October 2017 and through targeted mail-outs managed by our energy management assistant, Joanne Williams, reached this number in a short period of time and the referrals continue to come through.
Funding is still available for those needing assistance.
If you have any questions regarding yourself, or a Runnymede resident you consider eligible to access this fund, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
You do not need to be on a qualifying benefit and currently the annual household income level within Runnymede is set at £30,000 after tax, national insurance, mortgage/rent costs, energy costs and council tax have been deducted.
All applications are subject to survey.
