Am I at risk of flooding?

You can see if your home or business is at risk from flooding, but remember that every flood is different so you should always be prepared.

View the interactive maps on the Environment Agency's website to check if your home is at risk.

If you are at risk, you can sign up for flood warnings to be sent to you by phone, text message or email. Alternatively you can view the current flooding status.

The flood warning service is updated every 15 minutes and shows three levels to indicate the current danger.

  • Flood alert - flooding is possible, be prepared.
  • Flood warning - flooding is expected, take immediate action.
  • Severe flood warning - extreme flooding is imminent, there is a danger to life.

A 'Warning No Longer in Force' notice will be issued after a 'Flood Warning' or 'Severe Flood Warning', once there is no longer a risk of flooding.

For more detailed flood information, call the Environment Agency's Floodline on 0845 988 1188.
