Armed Forces support

Runnymede Borough Council is proud to be a supporter of an Armed Forces Community Covenant.

The Covenant in Runnymede was signed in November 2013 and is a voluntary statement of mutual support between our community and the Armed Forces locally.

The aim of the Community Covenant is to:

  • encourage communities to support the Armed Forces in their areas and to nurture public understanding and awareness of issues affecting the Armed Forces
  • recognise and remember the sacrifices faced by the Armed Forces
  • encourage activities which help to integrate the Armed Forces into local life
  • encourage the Armed Forces to help and support the wider community, whether through participation in events and joint projects, or other forms of engagement.
