Runnymede Borough Council is operating a new bus service which connects Addlestone with the surrounding areas, including St Peter's Hospital and Woking.
With two routes - the 457 and 556 - the service links Strawberry Fields and Franklands Park with Woking station in the morning. There is a return journey in the evening, both of which take in Woodham and New Haw. Throughout the day there are then hourly services between Addlestone Tesco and St Peter's Hospital which cover a route including New Haw, Row Town, Franklands Park and Ottershaw.
The 556 route
The 556 route starts out at Strawberry Fields each weekday morning, except Public Holidays, at 7.55am and arrives at Woking station for 8.30am. Ideal for anyone who works in or around Woking or uses the town to commute further afield, a return journey leaves Woking station at 5.15pm and arrives back at Strawberry Fields at 5.47pm.
The 457 route
The 457 route provides hourly weekday bus access around Addlestone and the surrounding area, including regular arrivals and departures at St Peter's Hospital. Again operating every weekday except Public Holidays, the 457 route makes its first trip to St Peter's from Addlestone at 9.21am, arriving at the Chertsey Hospital at 9.54am. The service leaves the hospital every hour on the hour between 9am and 4pm, alternating the direction of its circular route around Chertsey, Addlestone, New Haw, Row Town and Ottershaw.
Timetable and costs
Residents of Strawberry Fields can travel for £1 per journey on both routes. Concessionary bus permits are accepted on both routes. Timetables and route maps are in the.
