SAFER RUNNYMEDE CARE AND CONTROL CENTRE

This centre monitors the CCTV cameras used in about 20,000 incidents a year, receives over 20,000 Careline calls a year, receives about 2,000 calls for out of hours services a year, and receives alarm activations from council premises.

It operates 24 hours a day every day of the year staffed by Borough Council employees.

Runnymede Borough Council was awarded the Public Sector Security award presented by Government Business magazine at a ceremony at The Emirates Stadium in London on 19th March 2009.

This award is presented to the Local Authority or Central Government building/refurbishment project that considers security as a prime concern and enhances the safety of staff, residents and visitors to the building through the installation of CCTV, monitoring, access control or other innovative security system.
