ANTI SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR
No person should have to suffer from the ill effects of anti-social behaviour. It is intimidating to walk down a street that looks neglected because of graffiti or vandalism. Fly-tipping and abandoned cars can make an area look uncared for.
Although Surrey has the lowest level of recorded crime in England, it can be threatening, especially at night.
So our fear of crime becomes far greater than our risk of becoming a victim of crime.
That's why the Safer Runnymede partnership is taking a stand against anti-social behaviour - to make Runnymede even safer.
We act quickly to tackle incidents of anti-social behaviour. A graffiti team equipped with the latest removal equipment aims to remove all graffiti within 2 working days and racist graffiti within 1. Abandoned cars will be removed as soon as practicable after checks on ownership have been completed or immediately if they are in a dangerous condition.
We want you to report any anti-social behaviour in the borough Please use our online reporting forms. It is only by people taking the trouble to report incidents that a true picture of what is happening in the Borough can be seen. The Freephone Number to report Graffiti is 0800 096 2028.
If an individual or a location becomes the subject of multiple reports Agencies will work together to try and address the problem.
To do this two forums meet regularly; the Community Incident Action Group (CIAG) discusses individuals and the Joint Action Group discusses locations. Information is shared under an agreed information sharing protocol.
